Kingy and Husky Triathlon

The weekend was a great success for everyone racing in the Kingscliff Triathon on the QLD/NSW border. Also down Coastal NSW at Huskisson. With conditions not looking the best the weather held off in both locations and made for some good racing.

In Kingscliff the tide came into account and while water wasn’t warm it was a non wetsuit swim. The wave start was a little later – waiting for the tide. Didn’t seem to dampen anyone’s momentum though.  We had some great results with Jay Adams & Elisha Gavin taking the win in the junior boys and girls events.  In both the Sprint & Olympic distance there were some quick times, podiums and PBs

The Yamba Swift Crew saw coach Darren take 2nd place Olympic while hot on his heels was Jason Culton in his first Olympic distance race going 2.11. Dave Flemming shaved 8 minutes off his last years time to grab 2nd in his age sprint. And young James Brodin did a fantastic job finishing 5th in category.

Results Sprint:

– 1st Jarrad Adams – 2nd Dave Flemming – 3rd Bianca Cairns – 3rd Ben Stevenson – Vee Stevanoski 4th  (missing 3rd only by 4 seconds) – John Rodondo 5th – James Brodin 5th

Results Olympic:

– 2nd Darren Adams – 4th Leigh Fry (PB) – 4th Elisha Bellchambers – 10th Brendan Campbell –  11th Jason Culton

Husky had a good turn out with Daniel James taking the win in sprint. Mitch Baker took 3rd in preperation  for 70.3 Penrith next week. Rob Banister went 6th in Olympic with a solid time.
